September 1, 2010 Dear Troop 320 Family, At the Court of Honor on Monday October 4th, I will install Assistant Scoutmaster (ASM) Russell Byrne as the 12th Scoutmaster of Troop 320 since 1969. Russell will bring new ideas and new enthusiasm to our program. He is well organized, has earned the "Trained" strip, and has excellent "Scout Spirit". I will continue helping the Troop as an Eagle Advisor with ASM Tom Gester. From Savage Gulf, TN to the Sea of Abaco, Bahamas, Troop 320 has been on some fantastic trips during the past four years! Along the way, several Scouts have earned the Triple Crown Award for attending all three High Adventure camps. We've dominated the water carnival at Camp Comer. Over 38 Scouts have advanced to Eagle Scout. Many have earned the Polar Bear Award, some even several times. Not surprisingly, we've earned the Quality Unit Award every year. . Dedicated adult volunteers and parents have made Troop 320's success. This has been no small task. I want to thank everyone for all they’ve done to support Scouting. Our Scouts have benefited tremendously from our volunteers, and we have created memories to last a life time. I look forward to the continued success of Troop 320 and of course many more Polar Bear Awards! Yours in Scouting, Howard Day Scoutmaster Troop 320 |
